In-Depth Information
molecules under various physiological conditions and with the proper spatial
and temporal resolution ( Wu et al., 2009 ). Future challenges will likely also
include the development of precise biosensors that enable the coincident
inactivation or activation and detection of specific protein interactions
( Toettcher, Gong, Lim, & Weiner, 2011 ). Finally, developing tools to
manipulate signaling endosome localization and function in specific
subcellular compartments such as growth cones may provide critical new
approaches to the study of signaling endosome localization in axon
growth, guidance, and regeneration.
