Step Seven:
At this point, you'll have a lot of pins on
her face, so you might want to go to the
toolbar beneath the Preview area and
change the Show Edit Pins pop-up menu
to Selected , so it will only show the cur-
rent pin you're working on (and hide the
rest). Now, click the New button once
again, and let's do some dodging and
burning to sculpt her face. Start by drag-
ging the Exposure slider to the left a
little bit (I dragged mine to -0.36) and
then paint over areas that recede on her
faceā€”the shadow areas. Then, click the
New button one last time, increase the
Exposure slider to around +0.42, and paint
over the areas that protrude from her face
(for example, paint a highlight down the
bridge of her nose, then on the front of
her chin, and on the frontmost areas of
her cheeks). Basically, you're making the
highlights on her face brighter and the
shadow areas darker. The final image is
shown below on the right.
The After photo has clearer and smoother skin, the eyes are brighter and have more contrast,
her lips and hair are brighter, and dodging and burning has nicely sculpted her face
