These tests were performed to evaluate the duration of nitrogen sparging required to maintain a
desirable pH for Dhc growth. The OD 550 of the culture at the time of sparging was 1.1, and nitrogen
was added at the rate of 12-14 L/min or 4.4-4.8 mL/min 3 L medium.
