Where Have All My Pictures Gone?
So where exactly do your pictures hang out on the iPad? Well, we explain in the preceding section
what happens to images saved from e-mails and the Internet: They reside in the Camera Roll. (We
wanted to see whether you were paying attention.)
In the Photos app, you will also find pictures you've shared with friends (as well as pictures they've
shared with you) through the Shared Stream feature that is part of iCloud. The photos you imported
are readily available too and are grouped in the same albums they were on the computer.
In this section, we show you not only where to find these pictures but also how to display them and
share them with others — and how to dispose of the duds that don't measure up to your lofty photo-
graphic standards.
Get ready to literally get your fingers on the pics (without having to worry about
smudging them). You can get to your pictures from the Photos app or the Camera app.
However, in the Camera app, you can see only the pictures and videos stored in Camera Roll;
in the Photos app, you can view all the pictures and videos you've imported as well.
Open the Photos app by tapping its icon on the Home screen. Then take a gander at the trio of tabs at
the bottom of the screen: Photos, Shared, Albums, shown in Figure 9-2 . We take these on one by
one.
