Tip 308
Use Multiple Twitter Accounts
While you're allowed to set up only a single Facebook account within OS X,
you're not limited to configuring a single Twitter account. With the Mail,
Contacts & Calendars section of System Preferences (Apple menu→System
Preferences), you can add two or more Twitter accounts by simply clicking
the Twitter logo on the right of the program window (you might have to click
the plus icon at the bottom left to see this list).
But this raises an issue: how do you know which account you're tweeting
from in the notification area or within Safari when using a Share Sheet? Just
look at the top right of the tweet message area. There should be a drop-down
list where you can select which account you'd like to send the message from.
The account you created first will be the default choice in the drop-down each
time. Should you want to make your second account the default choice,
simply delete the first account within Mail, Contacts & Calendars (select it,
and then click the minus button at the bottom left), and then re-create it, as
mentioned earlier.
Tip 309
Connect to Stubborn Shared Folders or Servers
Your Mac can speak the same networking language as Windows computers,
meaning you can share files and printers.
Using Finder's Side Pane
Connecting to a shared folder or other resource should be as easy as looking
under the Shared heading in the side pane of Finder, clicking the entry for
the computer in question, and then clicking the Connect As button and typing
the other computer's login credentials when prompted.
Unfortunately, things sometimes don't run as smoothly as this, and it can
be hard to diagnose why. The computer simply might not appear in the list.
