Click and drag a text selection, picture, or file to the Mail icon in the Dock to
instantly compose a new email with the text or picture in the body or the file
attached to the new mail.

Quickly Create a New Sticky Note
The Stickies application is one of the hidden gems of your Mac's built-in
software list. You can find it in the Applications list within Finder. The app
borrows from the real-life sticky notes, and you can stick virtual notes any-
where on the desktop. Whatever you type on them is automatically saved
across reboots.
Sometimes I want to make a note of text on a web page, but this can be a
cumbersome experience—I have to highlight the text, copy it, switch to
Stickies, and create a new note before I can paste in the text.
Here are two potential solutions to this issue.
Creating New Notes Using Keyboard Shortcuts
The first solution is to highlight the text in the usual way and hit
SHIFT + COMMAND + Y . This will automatically create a new sticky note containing
the text.
If photos are included within the block of selected text, they'll be included in
the note, but any layout is usually lost (that is, the pictures might not appear
where they did on the web page, for example).
Dragging and Dropping
An alternative is to create a Dock icon for Stickies (just drag the Stickies
program icon from Applications to the Dock) and then simply drag and drop
