drag the proxy icon on top of the word processor or layout program's window
where you'd like to insert it. It will be inserted instantly.

Supertip: Take Control of PDFs
Preview is the Mac's highly capable image viewer, and it also displays PDFs.
You'll find it within the Applications list of Finder. But that's just the start of
its abilities when it comes to these document files. Several tips are listed here,

Annotating PDFs
Preview has reasonably sophisticated annotation facilities built in that you
