Removing a Toolbar Entry
To remove an icon you've added, just hold down COMMAND and drag the icon
up and away from the toolbar in the case of toolbar icons or to the left and
away from Finder in the case of sidebar icons. The icon will disappear in a
puff of smoke (literally, although don't worry—only the shortcut will be
deleted).
You can also delete default toolbar entries this way, such as the Search box,
which will free up a lot more space for your own icons.
To restore the default set of icons to the Finder toolbar at any point, right-
click in the toolbar area, and then click Customize Toolbar in the menu that
appears. Then in the drop-down dialog box, drag and drop the default icon
set to the toolbar over what's already there.

Hide Every Single Window
To send every program window that's open to the Dock—apart from the one
that you're currently working in—hit OPTION + COMMAND + H . To restore the program
windows to the screen, you'll need to click their individual Dock icons.
Hold down OPTION + COMMAND , and click a blank spot on the desktop (such as
the space on either side of the Dock) to instantly hide all windows except
Finder windows, revealing the desktop. Click the Dock icon of each app to
unhide it.

Work Better with Column View
Column view within Finder is probably my favorite way of browsing files. To
access it, open a Finder window, and click View→As Columns, or hit
COMMAND + 3 .
The only issue I sometimes have is that long filenames get truncated because
