Click File→Save As; give your new app a name, such as Color Picker; and
choose a location (you can save it in the Applications folder if you want,
alongside all your other apps). In the File Format drop-down list, near the
bottom of the Save dialog box, select Application. Then click Save.
Your new app is now ready for use. When it's running, you can close it by
clicking either the Cancel or OK button—it doesn't matter.
To see the RGB or CMYK values of a color, click the Color Sliders icon on the
color picker window's toolbar (second icon from the left), and select RGB
Sliders or CMYK Sliders from the drop-down list (see Figure 27, Creating a
homemade color picker app , on page 183 ).

If you want to sample colors anywhere on the screen to get their RGB or
approximate CMYK values using the color picker tool (CMYK has a smaller
color gamut compared to RGB, so any values returned by the color picker
will be nearest approximated values), click the magnifying glass icon next to
