In-Depth Information
Once you do this, a miraculous thing will happen: the folder's icon will change
to indicate it's a DVD movie, and suddenly double-clicking the folder will
cause the movie to start playing in DVD Player as if you've just inserted it as
a DVD movie disc.
Should you want to browse the backup folder at any point, right-click the
new .DVDBUNDLE package, and select Show Package Contents from the menu
that appears.
Removing the .DVDBUNDLE extension will return the folder to its ordinary status
as simply containing files.
Tip 79
Link to Emails in Notes/Stickies/Docs
If you drag and drop an email from the list within Mail onto a Notes window,
sticky note, or TextEdit window, it'll automatically create a text link that—
when clicked—will open the email for viewing.
However, bear in mind that, when doing this, you're merely creating a link.
You aren't copying the mail's contents into the document, sticky note, or note.
Therefore, if you send the document to another person, the link will be useless
and will result in a nasty error message when that person clicks it.
Tip 80
When Did I Make That Sticky?
You can find the Stickies app in the Applications list within Finder. The app
borrows from the real-life sticky notes, and you can stick virtual notes any-
where on the desktop. Whatever you type on them is automatically saved
across reboots.
However, here's a cool tip: hovering your mouse over a sticky note will show
a tooltip telling you when the sticky note was created and when it was last
modified.
