1. Open HDR-Panorama.psd if it is not already open.

2. Press Cmd+A to select all. Choose Select a Transform Selection.
Select the middle-left reference point on the options bar, make sure
the aspect ratio is unlocked, and type 50% in the Width text box
(see Figure 14.15). Press Enter to select exactly the left half of the
panorama.

3. Press Cmd+J to copy the selection to Layer 1. Press Opt+[ to select the
Background layer. Cmd+click the Layer 1 thumbnail to reselect what
you selected in step 2. Press Shift+Cmd+I to invert the selection and
thus select the right half of the panorama. Press Cmd+J to copy the
selection to Layer 2. Figure 14.16 shows the resulting layers.

4. Toggle off the Background layer and look for a vertical seam, one
pixel wide, between Layers 1 and 2. Zoom into this seam until you
can see individual pixels (see Figure 14.17).
