to accentuate one or two themes often produces the most compelling results.
The first step is to train yourself to become conscious of themes resident in your
images. As your Photoshop skills grow, you will become aware of things you can
do to accentuate themes and make your images stand out. The following is not an
exhaustive list of composition themes, but it should give you enough to chew on.
Linear form A line is the shortest distance between two points. Lines connect
the dots, implying logic, efficiency, and mechanism. Horizontal lines are rest-
ful, vertical lines are strong, and diagonal lines imply motion. Converging lines
direct the eye to a goal. Lines are masculine.
Curved form Curves take time to get where they are going. Curves can be sen-
suous and beautiful and imply relationship. Curves are feminine.
