In this chapter you have learned some of the skills that people refer to when they say that
an image must have been manipulated with Photoshop. However, if the photo manipulation
is well done, people are not conscious of it. Having the ability to deceive isn't license to
perform unethical acts. You must rely on your own moral compass to decide if a particular
photo manipulation enhances the visual story you are trying to tell or if it goes too far.
That said, you now have the basic skills to retouch, replace textures in perspective, and
change focus to direct viewer attention.

Go outside and take some photos that are marred by something unsightly such as a tele-
phone pole, wires, advertisements, fences, or the like. Retouch them to remove unwanted
elements, replace some of their textures in perspective, or change the focus to draw the
viewer's eye where you want it to go. Alternatively, find some photos online and create
a photo montage using the retouching skills you've learned in this chapter. It's amazing
what you can do with Photoshop!
