Replacing textures In Perspective
Now that you've learned how to use a few of the retouching tools, you might
think you can apply them successfully to any surface. But that's not always
the case. Surfaces that recede from the viewer diminish in size in perspective,
making retouching architectural surfaces much more challenging. To solve
this problem Adobe invented the Vanishing Point filter, its name referencing
the lines of perspective that converge at one or more vanishing points in the
distance. In the following exercises, you will create perspective grids and replace
the siding of a stucco building with brick.
Mapping Perspective Grids
In the first stage, you will map perspective grids onto building surfaces to give
the Vanishing Point filter an idea of the 3D space that you naturally understand
and is implied in the photo.
