In-Depth Information
Content-aware fill is not perfect but it's 90 percent of the way to a
convincing illusion.
7. Press Cmd+D to deselect. Figure 13.7 identifies two problem areas

8. Select the Clone Stamp tool. Open the brush picker on the options bar
and set Size to 50 px and Hardness to 75%. Hold the Opt key and click point
A to set this as your clone source. Release the Opt key and paint over
point B (see Figure 13.8). The pixels from A are stamped to B as you paint.
The success of a clone stamp operation lies in how carefully you
match the clone source to the stamp target.
9. Continue cloning and stamping any problem areas you find. Try to
avoid repeating similar areas close to each other because the eye will
spot this as an illusion more readily.
Clone stamping is
much more of an art
than a science. Your
skills will improve
with practice.
10. Toggle the Retouched layer off and on to see how far you've come.
Save your work as Church-Retouched.psd . Figure 13.9 shows the
picturesque church the way it was intended to look.
