transforming smart objects
When you convert any number of layers into a smart object, they are placed
into a container, if you will. You can transform this container as one layer.
Transformations are applied to smart object layers in nondestructive (vector)
fashion, so you don't damage image quality with each transformation as you do
with raster layers. As the name suggests, using Smart Objects is the intelligent
way to manage layers through multiple transformations because the sum total
of transformations is applied all at once. In the following steps you will convert
layers into a smart object, place it in another file, and deform the result.
