6. Select the Ellipse tool, choose Shape tool mode, and drag out a small
circle to act as a dot within the ring. Press Cmd+; to toggle off the
guides. Change the name of layer Shape 1 to Dot .
7. Select the Add A Layer Style icon at the bottom of the Layers
panel and choose Stroke from the context menu. Click the color
swatch in the Layer Style dialog box and click an orange hue on the
Rays layer in the canvas. Click OK to close the color picker. Drag the
Size slider to 4 px (see Figure 9.16).

8. Select Bevel & Emboss in the Layer Style dialog box and drag the
Size slider to 27 px. Select Outer Glow and drag Noise to 30% and
Size to 100 px. Click OK to close the Layer Style dialog box.
9. Shift+select the Ring and Dot layers. Press Cmd+G to create a layer
group containing the selected layers. Change the name of Group 1
to Circled Dot (see Figure 9.17).
10. Save the file as Digital-Art-4.psd and leave it open as you work
through the remainder of this exercise. Figure 9.18 shows the Circled
Dot layer group in the center of the canvas.
