Multiple layers can be linked together with the link icon at the bottom
of the Layers panel. Linked layers are transformed together like multiple
selected layers. Linked layers remain linked until you unlink them. (Linking
became less important once the ability to select multiple layers was added
to Photoshop in CS2.)
9. Press Opt+[ to select the Reverse Spiral layer within the Spirals
group. Choose Image a Adjustments a Hue/Saturation. Drag the
Hue slider to -50 and click OK (see Figure 8.10).

10. Select the Spirals group and press Cmd+E so you can see how every-
thing in the group merges into one layer. Choose Layer a Flatten
Image and click OK when asked whether you want to discard hidden
layers. You are left with only a Background layer.

Photoshop has a plethora of blend modes offering you many options for composit-
ing images together other than the obvious method of layer opacity. There is also a
lesser-known way to blend layers called Blend If that you'll explore in this section.
