Quick selecting and Refining
The newest additions to Photoshop's selection toolset are called the Quick Select
tool and the Refine Edge tool. These tools are typically employed together, with
Refine Edge cleaning up after the initial quick selection. The Quick Select tool
employs real-time processing to make intelligent selections based on brush-
strokes that automatically detect color similarity and edges. Quick Select and
Refine Edge provide the one-two punch that you will use in the following steps
to capture a difficult subject such as hair blowing in the breeze without having
to painstakingly lasso every flyaway follicle.
