5. Choose Layer a New Adjustment Layer a Gradient Map and click
OK to accept the default name in the New Layer dialog box. Select
the Foreground To Background gradient in the Gradient drop-down
in the Properties panel (see Figure 7.21). The gradient is mapped to
the selection, brightening the whites.

6. Press Opt+Cmd+Z to step backward through the history and then
press Shift+Cmd+Z to step forward. In this way you can compare the
image before and after the adjustment. Figure 7.22 shows the result-
ing luminous windmills.
