Errors That Occur During Cell Calculation

When an error occurs during the calculation of a cell value, there is a good chance that
the other cells are, nonetheless, valid and contain useful data. In this case, Analysis
Services does not generate a Fault element; instead, it places an Error element as a data
value of the failed cell.

The following MDX statement creates a calculated member using the MDX function
Order , which accepts only the Set expression as the first parameter, not a string expres-
sion. Execution of this statement results in an MDDataset resultset with cell data that
contains some Error elements:
