TABLE 26.2
Types of the Process Command
Name
Applies To
Description
Analysis Services reloads data
to the dimension and detects
what data was changed. If
Analysis Services detects that
data changed during the
Process command affects
other objects, such as aggrega-
tions or partitions, it changes
the state of those objects.
ProcessUpdate
Dimension
Dimension , Cube ,
MeasureGroup , Partition
Analysis Services rebuilds the
indexes of data stored in the
object.
ProcessIndexes
Dimension , Cube ,
MeasureGroup , Partition
Loads only data into the object
and doesn't build Partition
indexes.
ProcessData
Database , Dimension , Cube ,
MeasureGroup , Partition ,
MiningStructure ,
MiningModel
Loads data into the object and
build indexes of the data, if the
data was not loaded into the
object or if the index wasn't
built. If the object was already
processed and had indexes,
the Process command won't
do anything.
ProcessDefault
Rebuilds the MDX global scope
cache. (See Chapter 28 for
more information.)
ProcessScriptCache
Database , Dimension , Cube ,
MeasureGroup , Partition ,
MiningStructure ,
MiningModel
The Process command will
drop the data from the object.
ProcessClear
Cube , MiningStructure
The Process command
processes dimensions of a
cube and changes the state of
all cube measure groups into
the browsable state. After
execution of this command, the
user can issue queries to the
cube, and retrieve dimension
data, but not cube data.
