DAY 7
Creel: The Flying Stone
The Norwegian-Mexican couple enjoyed hearing about my Mexican experiences and asked
if we could join up together. We signed up for Tour Number 2 as a threesome and for the
bus to Batopilas in the heart of the Copper Canyon.
Carmen's Master's thesis was on eco-tourism and my comments about the places I'd been
fit her theme. She'd studied photography for three years in Paris and said she'd like to
video my remarks.
At 7 a.m. I was up and walking the streets of Creel in the cold, fresh morning air. I walked
to the edge of town, past the train station and the Noreste bus depot. I walked over a bridge;
the riverbed below was rock, dry sand and weeds.
