DAY 15
Río Verde, Media Luna, Tamasopo Falls and Puente de Díos: Stage 2
I peeked at my clock. It was 6:14 a.m. There was time to catch the first bus to Rio Verde.
It was still dark when my taxi dropped me off at Bus Central. The depot was brightly lit, its
counters open, clerks were cheerful, ready to answer questions and sell a ticket.
"Río Verde," I said. The clerk punched in numbers on the computer keyboard and asked my
name. "Ricardo."
It was only two hours and fifteen minutes to Río Verde, but the world changed. San Luís
Potosi is high desert, cactus-loving brown. Río Verde (Green River) is over the mountains
on the gulf side and was humid and wet, and green.
