For the blue toys, neither sex demonstrated a preference for either
type of toy.
Figure 15.21 presents the results of the simple effects comparing levels
of gender . We are thus comparing females to males for the time spent
playing with hands-on toys and we are comparing females to males for
the time spent playing with pretend toys; with respect to Figure 15.3, for
each plot we are determining if the two data points at hands-on differ
significantly, and we are determining if the two data points at pretend
differ significantly.
Our results indicate that most of the pairs of data points differ except
for the female-to-male comparison for the yellow pretend toys. Examining
