main dialog window.
Note that near the top of the window under
Within-SubjectsVariables
we see the expression
(color, toytype)
. This is the order in which we
identified our within-subjects factors and gives us guidance for filling in
the slots. Recall that color incremented most slowly and was identified
first. The codes in the panel, reading down, have the first code changing
most slowly. This first code corresponds to
color
and the first two slots
are reserved for the
color
coded as 1, that is, yellow.
The first slot is reserved for the variable with the code 1,1. We know
that the first value stands for yellow. The second value is the code for
toytype
, and a code of 1 refers to hands-on toys. Thus, the first slot is
reserved for
yelhand
. In an analogous manner, the second slot can be
understood as referring to
yelpret
, the third slot refers to
bluhand
,and
the fourth slot refers to
blupret
. These variables are brought over to the
panel as shown in Figure 15.7, where we also see that
gender
has been
draggedintothe
Between-Subjects Factor(s)
panel.

With seven effects of interest here, we will wait until we perform the
post-ANOVA tests to determine for which effects we want to generate
tables of estimated marginal means. For this omnibus analysis, we simply
check

Homogeneity tests
