For teenagers, all participants reported more jealousy when their partners
were physically attracted to someone else than when their partners were emo-
tionally attracted to another. Females reported greater levels of jealousy than
males.
For the students in their middle twenties, males were more jealous in
the physical attraction condition than in the emotional attraction condition.
Females did not differ in jealousy across the two conditions; they did report
more jealousy when their partners were emotionally attracted to another but
were not significantly different from the males under the condition of their
partners being physically attracted to someone else.
