Our results indicate that all pairs of data points differ except the female-
to-male comparison for students in their middle twenties. Examining
the comparisons one by one in Figure 14.3, we can derive the following
summary:
For the teenagers, females reported higher levels of jealousy than
males when their partners were emotionally as well as physically
attracted to someone else.
For the students in their middle twenties, females reported higher
levels of jealousy than males when their partners were emotionally
as well as physically attracted to someone else; females and males
did not differ after reading vignettes in which their partners were
physically attracted to someone else.
