13.6 SPSS OUTPUT OF THE OMNIBUS ANALYSIS
The results of Box's test, shown in Figure 13.10, is not statistically signif-
icant and indicates that the assumption of the equality of the covariance
matrices cannot be rejected. Mauchly's test of sphericity, the results of
which are shown in Figure 13.11, cannot be performed with only two
levels of the within-subjects variable. Levene's test of error variance equal-
ity, shown in Figure 13.12, was not statistically significant; we therefore
cannot reject that assumption.
The within-subjects summary table is presented in Figure 13.13 and
the between-subjects summary table is presented in Figure 13.14. From
these two tables we can see that all three effects of interest are statistically
significant. Because the two-way interaction is statistically significant, we
now proceed to our simple effects analyses.
13.7 PERFORMING THE POST-ANOVA ANALYSIS IN SPSS
13.7.1 POST HOC TUKEY TEST
Configure the analysis as you did for the omnibus ANOVA except that
now you can request a Tukey test for leadstyl in the Post Hoc window.
This window is shown in Figure 13.15. At the end of the process click the
Paste pushbutton instead of clicking OK . The underlying syntax will then
be placed in a syntax window; locate that window on your desktop and
make it active by clicking it. This window is shown in Figure 13.16.
