second pair of rows represent granules 0 . The last within-subjects variable
is boxcolor and will increment most rapidly down the rows. Therefore,
the first row of data represents boxcolor 1 (aqua), the next represents
boxcolor 2 (orange), the third represents boxcolor 1 (aqua), and so on.
This strategy, represented in univariate form for SAS, is equivalent to the
multivariate data structure that we used for SPSS.
12.10.2 STRUCTURING THE DATA ANALYSIS
Import the data file from Excel into a new SAS project. Then, from the
main menu, select Analyze ANOVA Mixed Models .Thewindow
opens on the Task Roles tab. From the Variables to assign panel, select
satisfaction and drag it to the icon for Dependent variable . Then, one
at a time, select powcolor , granules , boxcolor ,and subid and drag them
overtotheareaunder Classification variables . The result of this is shown
in Figure 12.22.
In the navigation panel, select Fixed Effect Model as shown in Fig-
ure 12.23. In the Class and quantitative variables panel, select powcolor
and then select the Main pushbutton; powcolor will automatically appear
in the Effects window. Repeat this procedure for granules and boxcolor .
Then, while holding the Control key down, select both powcolor and
granules . With both variables highlighted, click the Factorial pushbut-
ton; powcolor
granules will automatically appear in the Effects window.
