The degradation rates of FL0 and PY0 are similar to that of P4, and when mass
losses of spilled oil approach 60%, the PPI is undefined (Bence et al.
2007
; Neff
et al.
2006
). Extensively weathered oils have reduced PPI values which are higher
than 5.5 (Neff et al.
2006
).
