In Burner's grand display of universal history, Christ stands atop a circle of globes,
proclaiming (in Greek) his immanence in the famous passage from Revelation: I am
Alpha and Omega. In Hampton's design, Christ's throne stands top and center, and
Hampton used the same quotation to illustrate his plan—for his blackboard (Figure 5.4),
with its sketch of his entire concept, proclaims at top center, I AM ALPHA AND
OMEAG [ sic ] THE BEGINNING AND THE END.
