The series [Au m (PR 3 ) 2 n ] q + : [ m (SR) n ] ( qn )+ : [Au m + n (SR) 2 n ] ( qn )+ :
[Au m +2 n (SR) 3 n ] ( qn )+ have Au m central cores which are isostructural and n or 2 n
gold atoms involved in the staple ligands. Some specific examples will serve to
introduce the procedure.
