5. Open the
arduino-1.5.3
folder within your
C:
drive and double-click on
the program
arduino
to launch the Arduino IDE.
6. If you'd like to be able to access the IDE more easily, click on the
ardui-
no
file and click Pin to Start Menu.
After installing the Arduino IDE in Windows, there are a few extra steps you'll
need to follow in order to get the IDE to be able to communicate with your
board.
1. With your Galileo powered on through the 5-volt power jack, connect it
to your computer via USB.
2. You may get an error saying that there was a problem installing drivers
(
Figure E-2
). You can ignore this.

3. Click Start
→
Control Panel
→
System and Security
→
Device Manager.
4. Under Ports (COM & LPT), right-click Gadget Serial V2.4, and select Up-
date Driver Software. (
