Spatial data is also often easy to relate to. For example, Figure 6-24 shows
screenshots from an interactive map that animates the growth of Wal-Mart
stores in the United States. As with most online maps, you can pan and zoom,
so as the animation plays, many people can zoom into where they live and wait
for the nearest store to appear. It is like a form of verification, where people
used themselves as a point of reference. Then they replay the animation to
see the pattern of store openings.
