Láki Tours has excellent fishing, puffin-spotting and whale-watching trips from Grundar-
fjörður or Ólafsvík. The Puffin Tour (Ikr5000) from Grundarfjörður goes to wonderful
basalt island,
Melrakkaey
, with colonies of puffins, kittiwakes and other sea birds, and su-
per views of Kirkjufell. Whale-watching tours (Ikr7900 to Ikr8900) depend on the season,
but cover the best whale terrain in the region; orcas, fin, sperm, blue, minke and humpback
whales are all possibilities. Check online for tours and departure points.
