Fire & Ice
'Land of fire and ice' might be an overused marketing slogan, but it's not hy-
perbole. Serene, majestic scenery belies Iceland's fiery heart - there are
some 30 active volcanoes, and many of them lie under thick ice. When their
fire-breathing fury is unleashed, the world often has no choice but to take
notice (remember Eyjafjallajökull?).
Vatnajökull
The island's ice queen is Europe's largest ice cap and the namesake for its largest na-
tional park. Don't miss the chance to explore this endless kingdom of white aboard a
snowmobile.
