Glacier Walks & Ice-Climbing Tours
Crunching across a rugged glacier is a thrill. Tours take visitors to
Sólheimajökull
, the
most accessible glacial tongue of massive Mýrdalsjökull. Glacier walks run year-round;
ice climbing runs September to April. For ice climbing you have to be able to pull your
own weight (literally, up). Figure on Ikr20,900 for a short glacier walk and Ikr29,900 for
ice climbing. Prices are significantly lower if you base yourself near the glacier and go
with local guides.
