This will play the sound woah, which sounds very electronic, as a
pad
or background
noise. The value 56 refers to the MIDI note. You can change the value and it will
change the note of the sound.
You can also control this continual sound by moving your mouse left and right, to add
an element of live coding and performance to your computer music. Underneath the
first line, type:
control_pad “note”, 57
Click Play, and move your mouse left and right, up and down. You will notice the
sound change as you move it.
There are currently three pads available in Sonic Pi:

saws
•
woah
•
babbling
You can add more pads at a later date.
