right side of the dialog. When printing from the Organizer on a Macintosh system the selected
image or images are transferred to the Editor space first before the Print dialog opens.
Select Printer: Start by selecting the printer that will output the image from those listed for
your computer.
Printer Settings: At this stage you should also check that the actual settings for the printer
match the type of image you are printing and the media (paper) you are using. Windows users
can do this by adjusting the settings in the Printer Settings section. Mac users will need to
click the Page Setup button to display a new window where these settings can be altered.
MAC ≠ WINDOWS
Mac users have three
setting sections in the
Print dialog whereas
Windows users have
five. The main differ-
ences are that the Win-
dows version contains
extra options for ad-
justing Printer Settings
as well as the ability to
choice from different
print types.
Select Paper Size: This setting determines the size of the paper that you are printing on.
Type of Print: Next, Windows users can choose the type of print you wish to create. There
are three options to select from:
t Individual Prints - designed for printing a single photograph per page,
t Contact Sheets - used for creating a sheet of small thumbnails of a group of selected
pictures, and
t Picture Packages - ideal for putting several larger photos on a single page using
templates.
Mac users printing from the Editor workspace will automatically be set up for producing
Individual Prints. To create a Contact Sheet or a Picture Package, select the required option
from the File menu and then work your way through the settings in the displayed dialog.
Print Size: This setting determines the size of the photo on the background. If the picture is
not the same format as the print size then the picture will be resized to fit. Selecting the Crop to
Fit option fills the print size frame, sometimes called the Print Well, with the photo, even if this
means that some of the picture is cropped.
After adjusting the settings in each of the sections of the Print dialog click the Print button to
output your photograph. Now sit back and enjoy your first digital photograph.
