Most photographers
choose to print their pho-
tos one at a time. The In-
dividual Print option in the
Print dialog is designed for
this purpose.
Making your first print
With an image open in the Editor workspace or selected in the Organizer, display the Print
dialog (File > Print). Start by selecting the correct printer for the job from the drop-down list
at the top right of the dialog. Then work your way down the numbered options making sure
to check the preview to ensure that the whole of the picture is the size and format that you
desire. Select the Individual Prints option from the Type of Print section of the dialog. If you
are printing from the Organizer space then you should also choose the One Photo per Page
setting from the More Options section. This ensures that the selected photo is centered on
the page. To print, select the Print button.
Single print workflow:
1 Open a photo into the Editor workspace or select a thumbnail in the Organizer.
Select File > Print.
2 Choose the correct printer from the drop-down section of the Select Printer sec-
tion in the Print dialog. This section is labeled 1 in the dialog.
3 Check the paper type and print quality in the summary section of the Printer
Settings (labeled 2). If you need to alter any of these options then click the Change
Settings button and choose different values from the drop-down menus.
4 In the third section of the dialog select the paper size that you want to print on.
5 Now set the Type of Print (labeled 4) to the Individual Prints setting. If you are
working in the Editor space this selection will automatically center your photo
in the middle of the page. When printing from the Organizer, make sure that you
also select the One Photo Per Page settings located in the More Options dialog (ac-
cessed by clicking the More Options button).
6 Now to set the size of the print on the page. This is often called the photo well as
the image will sit within the borders of this size. Select Print Size from the drop-
down menu or create your own using the Custom setting. Click the Crop to Fit op-
tion to fill the well with the image. Set the number of copies of the print to output.
All these settings are in section 5 of the print dialog.
7 Click Print to output the photo.
