In-Depth Information
Photo Books are good examples. Once the new project document is created, you will be able
to add text to the pages using one of two different methods.
Adding text to a photo project workflow:
1 Click onto the Type tool in the toolbar (left of the workspace). Now click onto the
photo project page to start a line of text or click-drag a marquee to the size and
shape that you want to hold several lines of text.
2 If place holder text is already on the page then click onto this text to change it to
your own entry.
The Styles section of the Effects panel contains a range of treatments that
can be easily added to the type in your photo projects. Just click and drag
the style to the text or select the text entry with the Move tool, click onto
the text style thumbnail and double-click to apply.

Adding an effect to a text layer
On the simplest level, the design options listed here can be used in much
the same way as the Layer Style entries we looked at in the previous
section. To change the look of existing text layers, select the layer in the
Layers panel first and then choose the text style by clicking one of the
thumbnails. Add the style to the layer by double-clicking the style thumb-
nail. The 'fx' icon is added to the text layer to indicate that it now has a
style associated with it.
Editing or customizing the style is as simple as double-clicking the 'fx'
icon to display the Styles Settings dialog and then altering the controls
for each style characteristic (drop shadow, glow, bevel, stroke).
