Use the Add Noise filter
for basic texture additions.
(1) Preview thumbnail.
(2) Filter strength.
(3) Noise type.

Add Noise filter workflow:
1 Select the Add Noise filter from the Noise section of the Filter menu.
2 Adjust thumbnail preview to a view of 100% and tick the Preview option.
3 Select Uniform for an even distribution of new pixels across the image, or pick
Gaussian for a more speckled effect.
4 Tick the Monochromatic option to restrict the effect to changes in the tone of pixels
rather than color.
5 Adjust the Amount slider to control the strength of the filter, checking the results in
both the thumbnail and full image previews. Click OK to finish.
