contains different modes for each tool. The default settings are displayed automatically
when you select the tool. Changing these values will alter the way that the tool interacts
with your image. For complex tools, like the Brush, more settings can be found by selecting
the More button located to the extreme right of the bar.

Panes
Panes are small windows that help users enhance their pictures by providing extra informa-
tion about images or by listing a variety of modification options. The most regularly used
panes are docked on the right hand side of the workspace in the Panel Bin and are displayed
by clicking the associated button at the bottom of the area (Actions Bar).
The Layers, Effects, and Graphics panes are grouped here and are ac-
cessed quickly via their buttons. The Favorites pane provides a place for
users to collect the effects, filters, styles, and artwork they use regularly.
Entries from other panes can be added here by selecting the Add To
Favorites option from the right-click menu when selecting the entry.
Panes not listed in the panel with their own dedicated button are
displayed by clicking the More button. The extra panes are grouped
together in their own floating window. This group includes the info,
Histogram and Color Swatches panes which are displayed by default
and Actions, Adjustments, History, and Navigator, which are displayed
when selected from the More button's drop-down menu.
Each pane can be moved from the group by click-dragging the title tab.
The panes can be regrouped by dragging each pane, by their tab, onto a
single palette window.
Selecting the Custom Workspace entry from the More drop-down menu
switches the mode of the Panel Bin to a version where any pane can be
added to, or removed from, the bin. Return the Panel Bin to the default
mode by selecting the Basic Workspace option from the More drop-down
menu.
Key Panes are displayed in the Panel Bin by click-
ing their button in the Actions bar. Use the More
button drop-down menu to show extra panes
not listed.
To save space, you should only have open those panes that you need
for the editing or enhancing job at hand. Close the remaining panes by
