Photo Effects: Go beyond simply applying
a filter to your photos with these multi-step
effects. This is where the four new entries are
listed.
Photo Play: The Fun Edits heading in the
Guided Edit panel and the entries it contains
was introduced in the last version of the
program. Options include the Picture Stack
effect, Reflection, Pop Art and Out of Bounds
effects.
Photo Play > Photo Stack
The Photo Stack Guided Edit option takes a single
photo and converts it into a montage of several
smaller pictures. The steps in the Guided Edit panel
include options for the number of photos used in the
composition, the size of the frame that borders each
picture and the type of background included. And
as the effect is created with a set of linked layers, the
composition as well as the size and position of each
frame can be adjusted after creation.

Choose the Picture Stack entry from those
listed under the Photo Play heading. Pick the
Before and After option from the View sec-
tion (top lef t) of the Guided Edit workspace.
Click onto the number of pictures thumbnail
to break the image into several smaller pho-
tos. In this example I selected the 8 Pictures
option. Now choose the thickness of the bor-
der used to surround each photo.
Click the Done button to apply the effect or
select a different background style with the
options in the 3rd step of the Guided Edit
instructions. Here I added a white back-
ground using the Solid Color option.
