Camera Calibration
The main adjustment controls are
located on the right side of the
Adobe Camera Raw workspace.
They are split into three groups
that are accessible by clicking the
icon tab at the top of the pane.
Basic contains controls for
adjusting color and tone in the
image.
Detail houses sliders for sharpness
and noise enhancement.
Camera Calibration allows the
selection of Camera Profiles.
Key Adobe Camera Raw Controls
Color and Tonal adjustments via the Basic tab
Below the histogram is a tab area containing three options - Basic, Detail and Camera Cali-
bration. The Basic tab contains all the tone and color controls that you can use to enhance
the raw file, sharpening and noise reduction features are grouped under the Detail tab and
camera profile selections are listed under the Camera Calibration heading. We will look at
each tab in turn, concentrating first on the controls under the Basic tab.
ACR Conversion Settings menu
The Settings drop-down menu is displayed by
clicking the Settings button on the right side
of the Tabs. The menu contains the Image Set-
tings, Camera Raw Defaults, Previous Conver-
sion, Custom, Clear Imported Settings, Save
New Camera Raw Defaults, and Reset Camera
Raw Defaults entries. Here are some more
details on each entry:

As ACR recognizes the
raw file created by dif-
ferent cameras, the
new Camera Raw De-
fault will be applied to
only those photos cap-
tured with the specific
camera that the set-
tings have been saved
for.
ACR Conversion Settings menu:
The Settings menu contains options for saving or
recalling image settings associated with specific
cameras.
Image Settings: The Image Settings option
restores the original settings of the current
photo. Use this selection when you want to
reverse changes that you have made and wish
to restore the photo to its virgin state.
