Application of Wireless Communication in
Temperature Measurement

Abstract. Because a seed rod always rotates in the process of crystal growth, it
is difficult to measure the crystal temperature in the crystal growth process. In
order to solve this problem, applying wireless communication approach, we de-
signed a meter using Micro Control Unit (MCU) AT89S52 and PT2262/2272,
and realized the wireless measurement for the crystal growth process tempera-
ture. Measurement result can be recorded and stored in computer in time. It lays
the good foundation for analyzing the crystal growth blemish and quality.

1 Introduction
In resent years, along with Cadmium Zinc Telluride (CdZnTe) crystal is widely used,
growth of high-quality CdZnTe has become pursued unceasingly goal for tens of
thousands of scientific researchers, but it is rather difficult to obtain high quality sin-
gle crystals of CdZnTe. The first, its melting point is higher; and its chemical compo-
sition is not easy to control exactly [1]. The second, its thermal conductivity is so low
that substantial concavity is usually present in the entire crystal growth process. The
third, theoretical study shows that suitable temperature gradient in the crystal growth
process and appropriate crucible rotation mode can improve the crystal growth qual-
ity. However, what are appropriate is that people have been looking for the target. In
order to obtain single crystals of good quality, firstly, want to design and manufacture
the crystal growth equipments. Secondly, want to repeat test repeatedly under the
theory guide. Thirdly, to measure accurately temperature of solid-liquid interface is a
key. At present, CdZnTe single crystal growth equipments are mostly composed of
Accelerated Crucible Rotation Technique (ACRT) and Vertical Bridgman Method
(VBM). Because crucible is rotating in crystal growth process, to measure accurately
temperature of solid-liquid interface is difficult. In order to look for the measurement
method of temperature of solid-liquid interface, applying wireless communication
techniques test solid-liquid interface temperature obtain success in this paper.
In temperature measurement of various rotating systems, because of inconvenient
wiring, the temperature measurement method usually has following 2 kinds now: one
is through electric brush to fetch out temperature signal. Then use measuring device
