meanwhile, cockpit display and control simulation realized the simulation of a virtual
head-up display, multifunction display and the central control panel. The operator by
controlling the simulated flight, according to a variety of multi-function display and
instrument information icons offered by virtual cockpit, can carry on the simulation
process [3].
There are six modules totally in the system. The relationship between various
modules is shown in Fig.3.
4.1 Realization of the Virtual Scene Outside Cockpit
In the "simulation experiment platform of airborne fire control equipments", Vega
Prime software environment is used for visual simulation of the battlefield. Visual
management driver module ultimately achieves three-dimensional effect, including
scene roaming, the target model transferring, the definition of movement pattern,
viewpoint management, loading and management of large terrain, the change of
weather in battlefield environment, the process of transformation for observing view-
point in battlefield scene and special effects after hitting the target, which makes
combat simulation effect more apparent. Simulation results are shown in Fig.4.

4.2 Realization of the Virtual Cockpit Function
Function modules in cockpit contain head-up display, multi-function display (MFD),
and the central control panel. The three all complete an independent development and
debugging firstly in the professional development of software named GL Studio, then
use the vpGLStudio provided by Vega Prime to embed the cockpit and instrument
system into the virtual scene system. Virtual cockpit effect is shown in Fig.5.
4.3 Implementation of Data Communications
Software receives commands through the network, then determine the working status
of entire flight simulation system, adjust the system display interface following the
instructions; and receives simulation data through the network, including the target
and missile status parameters, and according to Simulation mode shows the corre-
