CMU/IOU board 0 has been placed in Quad-XSB mode, while CMU/IOU boards
6, 7, 8, 10, and 12 are in Uni-XSB mode. The DID (Domain ID) column shows
the assignment of XSBs to domains. All four quads of CMU#0 are in Domain 0.
Domains 8 and 10 have just one CMU/IOU board set, while Domain 14 has two
CMU/IOU board sets.
Let's create the first domain. It will be Domain 2 and will contain a single
board. Because CMU#10 has no corresponding IOU, CMU#12 will be used. In
Uni-XSB mode, the board will be identified as XSB12-0. Domain 2 will use the
internal disks in slots 0 and 1, and Solaris 10 10/09 (Update 8) has been loaded
on the disks. This will require a base I/O card to be installed in PCIe slot#0 of
IOU#12. This XSB will occupy the first board position in the domain, or LSB00.
We could have chosen positions 0 to 15, or LSB00 to LSB15. Because this is a
single-board domain, we use LSB00.
XSCF> setupfru -m y -x 1 sb 12
XSCF> setdcl -d 2 -s 00=12-0
XSCF> addboard -y -c assign -d 2 12-0
XSB#12-0 will be assigned into DomainID 2. Continue?[y|n] :y
XSCF> poweron -y -d 2
Each command is described below.
setupfru -m y -x 1 sb 12
CMU#12 ( sb 12 ) has been set to Uni-XSB (the -x -1 option) and memory
mirroring has been enabled (the -m y option). Because CMU#12 has 64 GB of
memory, Solaris will see only 32 GB available.
