Linux guest kernel. The dom0 hypervisor is able to run on 64- or 32-bit CPUs
and, therefore, is capable of supporting 64- or 32-bit guests, respectively. Oracle
considers the control domain to be an appliance, which is completely maintained
by Oracle.
Oracle VM provides a browser-based management solution for creating, clon-
ing, sharing, configuring, booting, and migrating VMs within pools of Oracle VM
servers.
Oracle VM is the only Oracle-certified hypervisor solution for 32- or 64-bit x86
platforms for Oracle software. Oracle products such as Oracle Database, Oracle
Real Application Clusters (RAC), Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control,
Application Server, Hyperion, JD Edwards, Berkeley DB, TimesTen, Oracle
E-Business Suite, Siebel, PeopleSoft, Oracle Retail, Oracle Financial Services
Software Limited, Oracle Weblogic Platform, and so on are officially supported
when running in Oracle VM-based environments. Customers who obtain paid
support for Oracle VM receive access to patches, fixes, and updates through the
Unbreakable Linux Network (ULN).
